Flexible Pathways to a Bachelor of Health Management Degree
The Department of Health Administration at the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ offers the Bachelor of Health Management (B.H.M.) — a degree designed to prepare graduates for entry-level administrative and management roles across hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, mental health organizations, insurance companies, public agencies and other healthcare organizations. The program also supports professionals already working in the health services industry who are looking to advance their careers.
The B.H.M. is available in multiple delivery formats to fit your schedule and goals:
- Hybrid — Beginning Spring 2027
- Fully Online at the Upper Level
Concentrations and Their Delivery Formats
Two specialized concentrations are available within the B.H.M. program, each with its own delivery format:
- Aging Services — Fully Online at the Upper Level.
- Lifestyle Management — Fully Online.
Online Program Delivery Defined
The primary goal of the B.H.M. program is to equip students with the foundational skills needed by healthcare administrators and management professionals. All students complete an internship course, gaining hands-on experience in hospitals, long-term care facilities, insurance companies, group medical practices, clinics or healthcare technology companies.
Why Pursue a Career in Healthcare Management?
- High Demand: Employment of medical and health services managers is projected to grow 28% through 2032, far outpacing most occupations, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
- Competitive Salaries: Healthcare managers earned a median annual salary of $110,680 in 2023, well above the national median for all occupations.
- Meaningful Impact: Your decisions as a healthcare manager directly shape the quality of care your community receives, from staffing and operations to patient outcomes.
- Diverse Career Settings: Graduates work in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, insurance companies, public health agencies, healthcare technology firms and more.
- Real-World Experience: The B.H.M. program includes a required internship, giving you hands-on experience before you graduate.
- Flexible Pathways: Choose the delivery format and concentration that fits your life, whether that is hybrid, fully online or a specialized focus in Aging Services or Lifestyle Management.
