Mission: To develop and promote leadership and character among UNF students and the community it serves through education, service, civic engagement and research.
About TLI
The Taylor Leadership Institute facilitates both curricular and co-curricular leadership education, emphasizing the promotion and reward of personal, civic and community engagement through rigorous and innovative programs that advance student leadership development.
TLI facilitates leadership education and development of students by offering an in-depth study of leadership from a theoretical perspective, balanced with practical, personal and workforce application.
The intentional study and practice of leadership sets students apart, providing students with the tools to leverage their life experience as they draw upon their academic curriculum on how to become effective, ethical and value-based leaders with a commitment to excellence, accountability, and responsibility to the real world and workforce. TLI offers several programs and services that promote leadership education both in the classroom and beyond formal classroom instruction:

Our Namesake
Established in 2010, TLI was formerly known as the Institute for Values, Community & Leadership. R. Bruce Taylor, III, Ph. D., the former chairman of the UNF Board of Trustees, shared a vision with Dr. Mauricio Gonzalez, former Vice President of UNF International and Student Affairs, to develop a leadership resource center for the UNF campus community.
Now known as the Taylor Leadership Institute, the Institute provides students, faculty, and the wider UNF community the opportunity to advance in leadership education, development and training, by offering high-impact programs that support students’ retention, persistence, and graduation.
